Easter stats….. Too much chocolate

Easter is upon us and the Vale is next week so lots of miles going in at the moment and next week should be bumper numbers!! We have had a few new names over the last few weeks so welcome to the stats for Trudy Perry, Ruth Northway, John Best and Kerry Rockey. I have added you run weeks and distances so you are included on the distance challenge and the persistent runners.

With the summer time arrived we now see some different routes coming out on the evening runs and we will also see the start of the mystical gates…. come out and see if you can find them all.

On Strava we now have 146 runners, 87 ladies and 59 gents. Not all so active though, so if you are one of the 8 that have not got out there yet, now is the time to get moving. Some names may be leaving the stats if they are not members of PRR, but then they are probably not reading this either.
So far we have a total of 1195 running weeks, these are a week where some one has been out at least once. The ladies have 647 and the men have 548.
We have a few persistent runners that make it out every week of the year, so far this year there are 37 you are all listed below, so well done and keep it up.
To date we have run 28655.8kms and climbed 269063 meters, logging 3516 runs between us all.
The total distance champion for the year so far is Neil Jones with a total of 1100.9km, and the mountain goat crown for the year so far is Neil Jones with 12487m climbed.
For the ladies Catherine Powell has done 663.3km and Catherine Powell is the highest climber so far with 6584 meters for the ladies.
The longest run to date goes to Tim Petterson with a distance of 72km, longest female run to date is Jo Marshall with a distance of 71.5.
Within the club we have the womblers, at the moment these are runners who are not the fast pace racers and tend to run shorter distances, as these generally get drowned by the high rollers I am creating your own set of stats.
At the moment I have classed womblers as runners who pace at more than 06:30 min / K, and run less than 10km maximum on a single run, we have 13 people who fall into this group.
#PRRparkrun
On Parkrun we now have 56 runners, between us we have clocked up 1480 runs. That’s 7400kms, pretty impressive. To be included in this stat you need to set you club as Pontyclun Road Runners. A warm welcome to the Parkrun addiction for Gaby Worgan on completing your first last week at porthcawl.
Within Parkrun there are milestones for runners and we have a few runners with these, so far we have 4 runners who have completed over 100 runs, and 7 runners who have completed over 50 runs
If you are getting close to one of these milestones let everyone know as we all love to be there to supprt each other for these.
#PRRontour

We have tourists out there in America, Catherine Davies nice to see you off the treadmill and out in the great outdoors and on the ski slopes so keep sending your pics through, there is not jealously at all we promise!

#PRRhugs, lots of hugs out there this week, but if you get a chance next week to come and support the vale at any point along the route, there will be lots of people really needing them to keep going to the end.

Within the stats I don’t track everyone’s PBs but it has been an amazing year so far for Sophie Taylor. beating all your PB’s in the first 3 months means you have better beat them all again in the next 9! Still lots of new challenges for you.

There are so many people close to moving up to the next level on the distance challenge and I think with the summer coming my lists will be getting longer.

With the official end to the couch to 5k we have seen the new summer womble route, don’t forget to support all those as they progress onto the full run and maybe we will be able to see you at Parkrun very soon.
